Fr. Anthony Meredith IC

FR ANTHONY AND ADoRE

Fr Anthony remembers coming to meetings at Alton in the early days of ADoRE, after he was baptised in the Spirit at a prayer meeting for Priests led by Fr Ian Petit.

We invited him to become temporary Chaplain and Spiritual Director of ADoRE in January 2022 and are delighted that he has been able to retain those responsibilities whilst fulfilling his main obligations to the Rosminians in both Rome and Rugby. His wisdom and spiritual guidance have been invaluable to us in our Core Group meetings as well as in Masses and Talks at the main ADoRE meetings.

FR ANTHONY AND THE ROSMINIANS

Fr Anthony first came to know the Rosminians ("The Institute of Charity")  while attending Ratcliffe College, Leicester, before his formation for the priesthood at Wonersh Seminary in Guildford, Surrey. Over the years he has served the Institute in many ministries, including Provincial Father, Novice master, Regional Superior for India region, and Vicar of Spiritual Charities for fifteen years.

As Vicar General, he also prepared and convened the Special General Congregation for the election of a new Father General in 2021. Recently, Father General Marco Tanghetti asked him to support Interprovincial Novitiate community at Villa Betania in Rome, where the Jubilee celebration pictures were taken.

 Fr Anthony celebrated 60 years as a Priest

on Monday 11th May 2026

The ADoRE family give thanks to God and congratulate our friend, Chaplain and Spiritual Director on 60 fruitful years as a Priest and  "Servant of the Word of God."

JUBILEE MASS HOMILY AND TESTIMONY

In this video, Fr. Anthony gives the homily at a Mass celebrated in St. Marie's, Rugby on 10th May 2026, the eve of his 60th Jubilee as a Priest. He also gives a brief account of joining the Rosminians  being ordained and sent to Derrys Wood. Struggling to cope with the responsibilities, he went to a retreat for priests , where he received inspired teaching from Fr. Ian Petit and was prayed with to receive Baptism in the Holy Spirit. This introduction to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal changed his whole ministry and we are still benefiting from his openness to the Holy Spirit all these years later;

Please continue to keep Fr Anthony in your prayers as we thank God for his faithful and dedicated ministry over the past 60 years, and for his life and example which inspires many holy vocations in the Church.
